Ferguson Group announced the appointment of Richard Smith to lead its executive team.

This appointment follows on from the acquisition of Ferguson Group by the global supply-chain logistics company, Brambles Limited, in September 2014.

Richard Smith will act as Chief Executive Officer of Ferguson Group during the period of transition into Brambles, and reports to Jason Rabbino, Group President of Brambles’ Containers segment.

Smith joined the Ferguson Group in 2012 as Group Finance Director and has played an important role as a member of the company’s Board of Directors, having been closely involved in the development of the company’s business plan and the acquisition by Brambles. As announced at the time of the acquisition, former owner Steven Ferguson continues his involvement in Ferguson Group as a Senior Advisor and will also participate in all Ferguson Group Board matters during the transition.

To support Richard Smith’s appointment, Laurent Letestu will transfer to the Ferguson Group as Interim Chief Financial Officer, from his current position within the Brambles Group, where he is the Chief Finance Officer for CHEP Asia. His long experience with Brambles will help accelerate the integration process and allow Richard Smith to concentrate on his leadership responsibilities.

Existing Ferguson Group employees, Julia McGlashan and Hayley Yule join the Ferguson Group executive team as Director of Human Resources and Director of Marketing respectively. The executive team, led by Richard Smith, will continue to focus on positioning the Ferguson Group as a global leader in the supply of DNV 2.7-1 offshore containers, workspace and accommodation modules to the oil and gas sector.
