Jacob H. Thygesen has been named the new CEO of Danish naval architecture firm OSK-ShipTech A/S, effective November 1, 2016.

Thygesen comes to the role with a background as Sales Director of Wärtsilä Ship Design, and prior to that he was Managing Director of Wärtsilä Denmark. As CEO of OSK-ShipTech A/S, he will be responsible for continuing the direction the company has taken since Anders Ørgård became majority shareholder 13 years ago. Ørgård will continue to play a vital role in OSK, focusing primarily on the company's commercial activities.
Bringing in a new CEO highlights the company's goal to continue the strong relationships with long-term clients according to Ørgård, who said, “It has been the wish of both the shareholders and the board to find the right person to continue the company's growth as a market leader in ship design. We are confident that Jacob H. Thygesen is that person. He brings more than 10 years of leadership experience from the shipping industry in general and ship design in particular.”
Ørgård added, “For my part, I am looking forward to be able to focus more exclusively on business development and development of our client base, both in Denmark and globally.”
