Seasoned shipping and corporate finance lawyer, Brad Berman, joins the global legal practice of Norton Rose Fulbright’s US member firm as a partner based in the New York Office.

Brad Berman focuses his practice on maritime and corporate finance, offshore incorporation, including Marshall Islands and Liberian law, and private wealth planning. He has represented ship owners, operators, investors and lenders in transactional ship finance matters, including capital markets, debt and equity, and mergers and acquisitions.

Kenneth Stewart, Managing Partner of Norton Rose Fulbright’s US member firm, said:
“Norton Rose Fulbright has one of the largest teams of transport lawyers in the world. Expanding and developing our US shipping practice is a continued focus, and we are fortunate to add a lawyer of Brad’s capability and esteem to the group.”

Previously, Berman served as executive director at the Liberian International Ship and Corporate Registry, the second-largest in the world with nearly 4,000 ships, where he managed the corporate and shipping program.

Berman, who is recognized in Chambers USA and Chambers Global in shipping finance, said: “Norton Rose Fulbright’s global practice is well-known in the shipping industry, and the New York office is well-positioned to work with clients in the US and worldwide. My shipping clients also seek a wide span of other legal services, from capital markets transactions to litigation and tax advice, and Norton Rose Fulbright's well-established teams in these areas are on point to provide that range of offerings.”
