G E Shipping Acquires a Supramax Bulk Carrier & Sells "Jag Prachi"

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd. (G E Shipping) took delivery of a 2006-built Supramax Bulk Carrier of about 52,454 dwt. The company had contracted to buy the ship earlier this month.

Earlier yesterday the company reported having delivered its 1991 built General Purpose Product Carrier “Jag Prachi” (28,610 dwt) to the buyers on 23rd September, 2014. The company had contracted to sell the ship in August 2014.

With the sale of "Jag Prachi" and the inclusion of the Supramax Bulk Carrier, the Company’s current fleet stands at 30 vessels, comprising 21 tankers (8 crude carriers, 11 product tankers, 2 LPG carriers) and 9 dry bulk carriers (1 Capesize, 3 Kamsarmax, 5 Supramax) with an average age of 9.8 years aggregating 2.45 mn dwt.
