6 June 2016. GTT has inaugurated, on June 3rd, its office in Shanghai: GTT China. Several officials from Chinese companies in the transport and industry of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) sectors attended the ceremony, in the company of Adnan Ezzarhouni, director of GTT China.

The market in China for LNG is fast-growing. LNG is an energy source that provides an alternative to petroleum products in the transportation sector, as well as being an alternative to coal for the conversion of power generation plants. The environment is at the heart of the priorities laid down in the country's 13th Five-Year Plan 2016-2020, aimed at reducing polluting emissions. Through GTT China, the company will be able to move closer to its customers and partners in China, and to better respond to the country's growing LNG needs.

"GTT and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding's collaboration has been an LNG carrier construction success story in China. GTT wants now to contribute to the development of LNG as a fuel in the country. This is why the company is opening an office in Shanghai", said Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT.
