Day of the Seafarer Celebrated in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Ports celebrates ‘Day of the Seafarer’ with a 1,000-strong gathering; Maritime education and related career opportunities highlighted at event
Abu Dhabi Ports informs it celebrated the global ‘Day of the Seafarer’ with as many as 1,000 seafarers. The day is observed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on June 25 each year to raise awareness of the vital role played by seafarers. Gifts were distributed by Abu Dhabi Ports employees to mark the day.
The gift parcels, which contained commemorative items, were hand-wrapped by Abu Dhabi Ports employees and distributed at all ports.
With a focus on building human capital, Abu Dhabi Ports said it has developed several avenues to further maritime education. The Abu Dhabi Ports' Training and Career Development Department offers a variety of internationally accredited in-house professional certification courses in ports operation and management. The Maritime Training Center in Musaffah offers world class, internationally accredited courses.
