PortVision-hosted Conference Invites' TerminalSmart' Users

Press Release
Thursday, September 20, 2012

PortVision to host a TerminalSmart forum for marine terminal managers & Automatic Identification System (AIS) operators.

The meeting will address key issues facing marine terminals, particularly marine operations associated with the petrochemical supply chain. This includes marine transportation managers challenged with chartering, scheduling, vetting, logistics, loss control and demurrage management, as well as operations managers responsible for front-line dock activities and dock management. Representatives from a number of major oil companies and leading terminal operators have already registered to attend.

“These summits help us meet the evolving needs of our marine terminal customers and the maritime industry as a whole,” said Dean Rosenberg, PortVision chief executive officer. “We continue our mission in bringing AIS technology from its original purpose as a ship collision avoidance system, to an increasingly powerful tool for enterprise management, analytics, reporting and process improvement.”

PortVision has been widely adopted for use by marine terminals, including petrochemical refineries and third-party midstream facilities. PortVision released TerminalSmart™ and the Dock Management System in 2009 to meet the specific needs of marine terminals. Since then, these systems have been widely adopted for marine terminal management.
