Panama Canal Authority Joins BELA

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) joins today the Ethisphere Institute’s Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA), a community of member organizations that understand the sharing of best practices in ethics and governance helps strengthen global commerce.

"The credibility and confidence that the Panama Canal has constructed during 100 years, is based on a strong organizational culture with the highest ethics and transparency values,” said Panama Canal Administrator Jorge L. Quijano. "We are pleased to join the Business Ethics Leadership Alliance for the opportunity to share best business practices and bring about joint efforts in the promotion of ethics and values for organizations worldwide.”

The Ethisphere Institute has previously recognized ACP as the World’s Most Ethical Company for four-consecutive years.

“We are honored to be one of the Most Ethical Companies recognized by the Ethisphere Institute,” said Canal Administrator Quijano. “This reaffirms our company’s core belief in integrity as an organization.”

Other companies joining BELA today include International Paper, Avnet, Wyndham, MSA, Thrivent and BDP. BELA member companies help share ideas, promote best practices and build personal networks in the ethics and governance space.
