(Press Release)
Monday, May 21, 2012

As of May 2012, T.O.S. will also offer a new service: a full ASD Training Program at any location worldwide.

For years T.O.S. has been a worldwide specialist in the transportation of vessels on their own keel. With the growth of the number of performed ship deliveries (in particular of ASD vessels) T.O.S. became an expert in supplying ASD captains, delivering ASD tug boats and providing ASD training on the spot for the new crew. “We often noticed that customers highly valued our on the spot training after a ship delivery. With the launch of the ‘ASD Training Program’ we will be able to offer a flexible, tailor made and professional training program with the latest STCW & IMO requirements (DNV certified)”, says Ronald van der Kolk, Manager Division Nautical & Technical .

The ASD Training Program

The training is very flexible and developed for (experienced) tug masters. In consultation with the client the starting level of the tug masters shall be determined. In a relatively short period of time, depending on the starting level, all tug masters will be trained to operate as a full ASD tug master. The program starts with a theoretical part. Directly afterwards theory will be put to practice on a tug trainer simulator and on the actual ASD tug. Van der Kolk: “We are able to facilitate a full ASD training program at the client’s location while the operational activities can continue. An unique offer with tailor made solutions.”
