Andre Peens, Celebrated Captain, Joins IYC as Director of Yacht Management

International Yacht Collection (IYC) is pleased to announce that, effective immediately, Captain Andre Peens takes on the critical role of Director of Yacht Management. His extensive experience includes piloting and managing some of the most recognizable superyachts in the world for both private use and charter: 286’ Oceanco, Seven Seas; 280’ Royal Denship Princess Mariana; 245’ Blohm+Voss, Katana; 165’ Feadship, Iroquois; and, the 145’ Heesen, Artful Dodger.

“I look forward to incorporating my extensive worldwide experience and depth of knowledge to enhance the Yacht Management Division and future growth of IYC,” says Peens. “Of course, IYC’s management capabilities already enjoy a world renowned reputation for attention to detail in the increasing complex global superyacht business. This was a motivating factor in my joining the company. I’m quite sure that this reputation combined with my direct hands-on understanding of yacht operations will prove an asset to both the company and our customers. In particular, I am looking forward to establishing IYC’s Crew Placement Division, a natural addition to our thoroughly well rounded list of yacht services,” he adds.

As Director of Yacht Management, Peens will be responsible for the comprehensive yacht management program for the total IYC fleet; new client development; sales of management services; expansion of the fleet; personnel and financial administration; establishment of core vendor relationships towards worldwide fleet discounts; expansion of the division in relation to project management and new construction; and, to establish a Crew Placement Division.
“Andre benefits from a time- and position-tested background aboard yachts of all sizes,” says Bob Saxon, IYC President. “From deck hand to boson to chief officer and captain, Andre’s experience enables him to provide our clients that kind of saltwater-in-the-veins know-how that will meet their needs whether their yacht is in Fort Lauderdale, far up the Amazon or in emerging cruising Australasia destinations. It’s an understatement to say we are lucky to have him join IYC,” Saxon concludes.
