SBI Minerva Award Presented to Jo-Kell CEO

Suzy Kelly, CEO of Jo-Kell Inc., an electrical distributor and engineering company, received the Small Business Insight Minerva Award at the 1st Annual Minerva Awards Luncheon on April 6, 2011. The event was held at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The award is named after Minerva, the Roman goddess of commerce. The first recipients of SBI’s Minerva Award are recognized not only for their excellent business leadership, but also their service to their community.
 
“It is an privilege to receive the first SBI Minerva Award and to be honored along with an exceptional group of women”, said Jo-Kell CEO Suzy Kelly.  “I am very humbled to be recognized for my work and service to the community,” Kelly added.

Kelly’s service to the community includes: Chesapeake City Council member; The Virginia Chamber of Commerce; Governor McDonald’s Commission on Government Reform and Restructuring; Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition Regional Board Chair; Legatus; Old Dominion University, Executive Advisory Council; and Chesapeake Rotary. Employees of Jo-Kell are also involved in numerous outreach and non-profit organizations throughout the year. Community service continues to be a priority for Kelly.
