Michelle Awad Elected as New Vice-Chair of the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors

Michelle Awad, K.C., has been elected to the position of Vice-Chair of the Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors. Her appointment takes effect immediately. She has served on the Board since 2021 as the Director appointed by the Halifax Regional Municipality. 

Ms. Awad is a senior partner in the regional law firm, McInnes Cooper. She is a Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. She practices throughout Atlantic Canada in the areas of commercial litigation and arbitration, products liability, securities, risk management, shareholder disputes, defamation, commercial insurance and bonding, and disability and life insurance underwriting and claims. 

The Halifax Port Authority Board of Directors is made up of seven members: Board Chair André Boudreau, Vice-Chair Michelle Awad, K.C. and Directors Rick Edwards, John Fitzpatrick, K.C., Laurie Graham, Chris MacInnes and Douglas Reid, FCPA
