McGurran Leads LOC Group's Hull and Machinery Services

London Offshore Consultants (LOC), a leading global marine and engineering consultancy for the shipping and offshore energy industry, has appointed Mark McGurran as the Group Director for Hull and Machinery Services.

“It is with great pleasure that I am able to advise that as from September 2016, Mark McGurran has accepted the role and will continue to be based in Singapore. He will work closely with LOC Group and the regional hub offices in ensuring our continued growth and expansion into this valuable market”, said Nick Haslam, Group Director for Shipping Services of LOC.

Mark joined LOC in 2015 and holds a Class 1 unlimited motor chief engineer with 12 years of sea going experience on container, passenger, high speed and offshore vessels in all ranks to chief engineer including technical management experience.

He has extensive experience with slow, medium and high speed engines including direct, geared and diesel electric propulsion systems and he subsequently worked for more than 10 years as a marine consultant specialising in expert witness, casualty investigation and technical due diligence services.

He has prepared expert reports and given testimony both in court and arbitration on various matters including ship building and repair disputes, charter party disputes and machinery damage matters.
