Abu Dhabi's ADNATCO & NGSCO, the shipping arm of ADNOC and its group of companies, has signed an MOU with Marorka, incorporated and registered in Iceland, a leading company in marine energy management, to supply and install ship performance monitoring systems for the ADNATCO & NGSCO fleet.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Ali Obaid Al-Yabhouni, CEO of ADNATCO & NGSCO, and by Ole Skatka Jensen, CEO of Marorka, on the side lines of ADIPEC 2015 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
“This agreement is part of our ongoing commitment to protecting the environment and optimizing the energy efficiency of our fleet using the trusted technology of our partner Marorka,” Dr. Al-Yabhouni said after the signing ceremony. “The system is capable of monitoring vessel energy consumption and providing support and advice to ships’ officers on how to improve hull efficiency, main propulsion performance and voyage management,” he added.
“These three elements are the main concerns for any shipping company looking to improve operational efficiency and reduce their ships’ carbon footprint.”
“The system is already installed onboard six vessels where it has demonstrated successful results with potential energy savings of up to 10%. The system will be installed on board another 16 vessels, including bulk Supramax, Handy Size, Tanker Aframax, Panamax, LNG and LPG vessels."
Meanwhile, Ole Skatka Jensen, CEO of Marorka, said: “We are very proud of our cooperation with ADNATCO & NGSCO and delighted that they have selected Marorka energy management systems for their fleet. ADNATCO & NGSCO is one of the leading global oil and gas transportation shipping companies, and our partnership with them will ensure that ADNATCO & NGSCO has the most advanced energy management solution available for its entire fleet, which can then operate in the most cost efficient and environmentally friendly way.”
