This week, two Ship-to-Shore (STS) Super Post-Panamax cranes and two Electric Rubber-Tired Gantry (ERTG) cranes arrived at SSA Marine México’s new Guaymas terminal, which is scheduled to begin operations in the coming weeks.
The four cranes represent a step toward the upcoming start of operations at the terminal, which will handle not only containers, but also general cargo and automobiles, expanding SSA Marine’s capabilities in northwest Mexico.
With an approximate outreach of 62 meters and a lifting capacity of 65 tons under spreader, the two STS cranes, coupled with the two ERTGs, represent an investment in the terminal’s container handling capabilities and yard operations. This equipment will become a key component of Guaymas’ future container handling infrastructure and will help drive future growth opportunities while strengthening the terminal’s role as a strategic gateway for regional and international trade.
