Management Changes in Damco

Klaus Rud Sejling, current Head of East West Trades in Maersk Line, has been appointed CEO of Damco with effect from October 1.

Klaus Rud Sejling joined the group in 1997 and has worked in various roles in Maersk Tankers and Maersk Line before joining Maersk Logistics as Branch Manager and later as CCO for Greater China. Most recently, he has been Head of Group Strategy; and COO and CCO of Maersk Tankers, before re-joining Maersk Line as Head of East West Trades in 2014.
Klaus Rud Sejling’s replacement as Head of East West Trades in Maersk Line will be announced at a later stage.
Hanne B. Sørensen, current CEO of Damco since January 2014 and former CEO for Maersk Tankers from 2012 to 2014, has decided to leave the Maersk Group as of October 14, 2016 to explore new opportunities. Sørensen started her career at Maersk in 1994 when she joined as an economist. Between 1997 and 2002, she held various CFO positions for Maersk Line in India, Italy and Singapore. From 2002 to 2006 she was Global Program Director for the implementation of the SAP-based financial system in Maersk Line. In 2006, Hanne Sørensen was promoted to Group Vice President and Maersk Line Area Manager for the Eastern Mediterranean region with base in Genoa. She became Chief Commercial Officer for Maersk Line in 2008.
