GAC Sri Lanka’s liner arm, McLarens Shipping, has been named “Best Shipping Agent, Customer Service” at the 21st annual Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (UK) national awards. The accolade was presented in recognition of its high standards of service for Wan Hai Lines in the Intra-Asia sector.

Mahesh Kurukulasuriya, Managing Director of GAC Sri Lanka, says strong local knowledge, excellent relationships with the authorities, and GAC’s own fleet of launches enables the company to provide efficient, timely and round-the-clock services to our customers.

“That’s what has earned the trust of our customers, including Wan Hai Lines, with whom we have been working for 18 years,” he adds. “They know they can rely on us to put them first. We understand their needs and ensure these are met without delay.”

“We congratulate GAC on winning this award. Being long-time partners, they know what our expectations are and never fail to deliver quality services and a high level of commitment," said Dicky Chang, Chief Representative for the Indian Sub-Continent of Wan Hai Lines. "This award serves as a form of recognition for their contribution.”

The awards are presented every year by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers after an independent survey of 169 customers, as well as interviews of key personnel and presentations to assess the nominees’ quality.
