Konecranes: Four Harbor Cranes to YILPORT

Press Release
Tuesday, March 5, 2019

In the first quarter of 2019, Turkey-based YILPORT HOLDING, the 12th biggest global container terminal and port operator, ordered four high-performance Model 8 mobile harbor cranes for two terminals in Latin America. Two of the large Konecranes Gottwald cranes will begin operation in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, in mid-2019, followed by two cranes in Puerto Bolivar, Ecuador, just two months later.

YILPORT’s four new eco-efficient diesel-electric Model 8 mobile harbor cranes from Konecranes will mainly handle containers in two terminals.

They will help to develop terminal operations sustainably in Latin America, where YILPORT started in 2016 with Puerto Bolivar and has since expanded both in Ecuador and most recently in terminal operations in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala.

The four identical Model 8 mobile harbor cranes are two-rope G HMK 8410 cranes. They provide lifting capacities of up to 100t and an outreach of up to 61m, enabling them to handle containers across 19 rows alongside large vessels.
