JNPT Achieves Higher Productivity in 2014

At a meeting with the Port customers and other stake holders/ agencies, the Chairman, JNPT, N.N.Kumar, announced the  performance  achieved by JN Port in calendar year 2014 totalled 64.42 million tonnes. This year container handling was 4.47 million TEU’s registering the growth of 8.48%. The share of JNPCT( the Port owned and operated container terminal ) is 1.32 million TEU’s and the other  container terminals,  i.e, GTICT and NSICT handled 1.99 million TEU’s   and  1.16 million TEUs, respectively.
                     
Addressing the gathering,  the Chairman elaborated on the achievements of the  year 2014, particularly ever record container traffic handled in a year since inception of the Port. He also explained the status of the projects of capacity addition at JNPort. He also provided details of the projects of evacuation for 12 laning of road connectivity, a contract for which likely to be awarded by middle of the year 2015 and the progresses of Dedicated Freight Corridor for moment of containers by rail.

The Chairman expressed gratitude for the support from the port customers, terminal operators, employees, trade and  other stake holders for the success of all  activities of JNPT.
