Kenichi Okamoto joins the GAC team to meet rising demand for ship agency services in the energy sector
GAC Japan is expanding its team, five months after opening an operations office in Tokyo, to meet the rising demand for Oil and Gas and LNG-related ship agency services. Kenichi Okamoto has joined GAC Japan as National Operations Manager to take care of this growing business segment.
Acting as GAC Japan’s primary local interface, Okamoto will manage relationships with the company’s internal and external stakeholders on all ship agency matters. He brings to this role experience in the LNG sector and ship agency activities from working at energy companies locally and in Indonesia, as well as his relationships with LNG players in Japan.
As more LNG shipments arrive at the Japanese ports, Yuichi Adachi, GAC Japan’s Country Manager says Okamoto’s coming aboard will be of considerable value in driving the company’s LNG-related ship agency business. “We will now go full steam ahead to grow our business in this sector. Besides having the capacity and capability to handle the rise in ship agency activities, we will also be offering other support services such as hub agency, disbursement management and information services to the owners and charterers of the LNG tankers.”
