XPO Logistics chief executive officer Bradley Jacobs received the Containerization and Intermodal Institute’s (CII) 2017 Connie Award during a ceremony December 11 in Newark, N.J.

Each year, the Connie Award recognizes individuals for their contributions, innovation and positive example within containerization, trade and the transportation.
Jacobs founded XPO Logistics in 2011 and has led the company to become a top 10 global provider of supply chain solutions and one of North America’s largest intermodal providers, generating approximately $15 billion of revenue. The company operates in 31 countries, with 1,435 locations and more than 90,000 employees.
During the ceremony two scholarships were awarded in Jacobs' name: one presented by the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) to Sahiti Kalapala, a graduate student at Rutgers University, and the other presented by XPO to Corey Dennis, a student at Easter Michigan University.
A donation was also made in Jacobs’ name to the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), a nonprofit network of supply chain experts that provides humanitarian relief following natural disasters.
The Port Authority of NY & NJ and other organizations involved in the Bayonne Bridge Raise the Roadway Project were also recognized during the awards ceremony.
