Marine Manufacturer Adds Talented Technical Sales Professional To Expand Key Big Boat Market Segment Presence

IMTRA, the leading manufacturer and importer of quality marine products, announced today the addition of Prentice Weathers to its sales team.

Focusing on business development efforts for the big boat segment, Weathers has joined Imtra in a Custom Product Sales position.

In his new role, Weathers is dedicated to providing excellent customer service, product support and follow-through to key clients. Working closely with product manufacturers, engineers and the sales team, Weathers will evaluate proposed system designs to ensure proper performance and installation, and will provide technical sales support and product recommendations. With a mastery of IMTRA product and integration detail, Weathers will answer customer questions including features, benefits, installations, appropriate sizing and interaction with other products within the system, and will be a valuable resource for on board commissioning, installation, troubleshooting and  diagnostics.

“A strategic focus for IMTRA is to expand our capabilities in the big boat market,” said Eric Braitmayer, CEO, IMTRA. “Prentice brings a wealth of experience to this vital role and we can’t wait to see the impact we know he will have on our sales, and the overall IMTRA customer experience.”

Spanning a range of products from rigging to hydraulic systems and deck hardware, Weathers has been involved with America’s Cup and Volvo Ocean Race projects, large custom mega-yachts, motor yachts, and most recently, semi-custom sailboats.

Weathers joins Imtra from Morris Yachts where, as sales director, he moved from Bar Harbor, Maine to open a sales office in Newport, Rhode Island. Prior to working at Morris, Weathers was custom projects manager at Lewmar Marine for eleven years, owner of Rigworks Inc. in San Diego, and head of Custom Projects at Navtec Inc.

Sailing has been a lifelong passion for Weathers and he also enjoys hiking and golf. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Newport.
