Hughes to Lead Assent’s Maritime Business Development

Assent Medical Cost Management has named Renee Hughes as the Senior Business Development Executive. Hughes will direct business development for domestic and international maritime bill review and negotiation for Assent. She will target P&I clubs, ship owners, ship managers, maritime adjusters, cruise lines and maritime attorneys utilizing Assent’s proprietary model that combined financial and medical applications involving bill review and negotiation.
Prior to joining Assent Medical Cost Management, Hughes served as an executive within the industry’s service and cost savings organizations and offers more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry. Hughes has previously performed in a variety of executive sales leadership roles specific to the maritime and health insurance arenas, including fully insured, self-insured, workers compensation and managed care organizations.
Hughes holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from University of South Florida and is an active member of Women's International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA), The Tampa Propeller Club, Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA), and Ft. Lauderdale Mariners Club. Hughes has also been an active participant with the Self Insurance Institute of America (SIIA) national and international conferences and various Maritime industry conferences.
