Horn, Ward Join Alabama Port Authority Board

The Alabama State Port Authority announced today two changes to its Board of Directors. On October 19, Governor Robert Bentley named Horace H. Horn, Jr., of Montgomery, Ala., as Chairman of the Board. Horn, initially appointed to the board in 2014, represents the State’s Central Region. In a concurrent gubernatorial action, the Governor appointed T. Bestor Ward, III of Mobile, Ala., to represent Board’s At-Large seat. 
Horace Horn currently serves as vice president of external affairs for PowerSouth Energy, where he oversees the daily operations of governmental and public affairs in Alabama, Florida and Washington, D.C. Horn is the past State Director of the Farmers Home Administration, now known as the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Agency. Horn serves on a number of national and regional boards, including the Energy Council, Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, the Business Council of Alabama and the Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway Association and Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway Development Authority. Horn recently served as President of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and Alabama Wildlife Federation, and was named Alumnus of the Year at Troy University.
Bestor Ward is president of Ward Properties, Inc., Safe Archives LLC and Uriah Land Company. He began his career in banking prior to moving into real estate management and development. His company, Safe Archives, specializes in secured document, imaging and media storage. Ward is Chairman of the Board of the JL Bedsole Foundation. He has served on a number of business and philanthropic boards, and is the past Chairman of the Board for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and the Infirmary Health System.
