Horizon Marine Adds Three New Hires

The Loop Current activity over the past year has cost the industry millions of dollars in nonproductive downtime and delayed the completion of several high-profile installations, Horizon said. According to the company, Michael Leber, Aaron Rosenberg and Drew Gustafson will provide Horizon Marine additional manpower and the necessary depth of skills to continue supporting our EddyWatch, RouteWatch and SurveyWatchsm clients.

Drew Gustafson joins Horizon Marine as a MetOcean Analyst with a B.A. in Earth and Oceanographic Science from Bowdoin College. Drew’s physical and biological oceanographic research and experience is in data processing, numerical modeling and remote sensing.  

Aaron Rosenberg received a B.S. in Marine Science from Boston University and dual M.S. in Environmental Engineering and Oceanography from the University of Connecticut. Aaron’s focus to date has been in air-sea interactions as they relate to storm surge forecasting, numerical modeling and ocean observations.

Michael Leber is a 2013 cum laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell where he earned his B.S in Environmental Science/Atmospheric Science with a minor in Mathematics.  He is expected to receive his M.S. in Environmental Studies/Atmospheric Science this December.   

Patrice Coholan, President of Horizon Marine, said, “We cast our net a little wider than normal to include ocean engineers and meteorologists, and as a result I feel we have a stronger team. For example, Michael’s yearlong internship at the Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center in Nashua, New Hampshire, has prepared him well for the daily reporting cycle expected by the offshore industry. All three young men will contribute to further strengthening our unique team in support of the offshore energy industry.”
