Top Honours for CMA CGM, Mrs Gina Lee-Wan

The global container shipping company CMA CGM Group and maritime lawyer Gina Lee-Wan, Partner and Co-Head of Maritime and Aviation Practice at Allen & Gledhill, recognised at Singapore International Maritime Awards 2019.

"CMA CGM and Mrs Gina have received the International Maritime Centre (Corporate) Award and the International Maritime Centre (Individual) Award respectively," said a press release from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

A world leader in maritime transportation, CMA CGM has been steadily expanding its presence in Singapore. In 2017, CMA CGM doubled its operating capacity in Singapore to four million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).

CMA CGM works with MPA, and institutions of higher learning to develop a skilled maritime workforce. In 2018, CMA CGM partnered MPA to train students under the Global Internship Award programme as well as develop its employees under the Maritime Cluster Fund through in-house training and overseas attachments.

Mrs Lee-Wan, winner of the International Maritime Centre (Individual) Award, is consistently ranked in the top tier of leading individuals, and in 2018, she was recognised as one of the top 10 maritime lawyers globally by Lloyd’s List.

In 2019, she was among the inaugural batch of select practitioners to be recognised as a Senior Accredited Specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law by the Singapore Academy of Law.

The prestigious biennial awards received more than 200 nominations for its 2019 edition. Reflecting the wide-ranging services in Maritime Singapore, this year’s recipients ranged from shipowners to maritime service providers, outstanding offshore and marine engineering companies to R&D and technology firms.
