Gothenburg Port Authority Appoints New CEO

Gothenburg Port Authority, Sweden has informed that Elvir Dzanic has been appointed as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

Elvir is currently Vice President of Business Development at Ceva Logistics North America, based in Houston. A global company with 52,000 employees.

Elvir Dzanic has wide-ranging experience in the transport sector, both globally and in Sweden. Gothenburg is also Elvir Dzanic’s home city, and he holds a degree in shipping and logistics from Chalmers University of Technology.

“The Port of Gothenburg is the heart of the Swedish export and import sector, and we are about to embark on a major new investment programme,” said Ulrica Messing, Chairwoman of Gothenburg Port Authority.

“With the appointment of Elvir Dzanic as chief executive we will not only acquire leadership marked by extensive experience in global shipping and transport, but also a person with a strong international network. His insight and expertise will prove invaluable,” Ulrica added.

Elvir Dzanic said: “It is an enormous privilege to be given the opportunity to develop the largest and most important transport hub in Scandinavia. And I find it particularly inspiring that I am once again working in my hometown of Gothenburg.”

Elvir Dzanic will take up his position in June.
