Emco Wheaton has appointed Daniel Gheorghiu as Supervisor of Engineering Services in Canada.
A graduate of the University of Toronto, Gheorghiu brings more than 20 years’ experience in technical design and mechanical engineering to the new role. He will lead the Canadian engineering team in the design and development of products and systems that set new standards in reliability, efficiency and performance.
Gheorghiu started his career as a mechanical design engineer in his native Romania before moving to Canada in 2001. Here he completed his education and worked in product development before playing a key role in the design and coordination of the Vertical Helix Ancillary Machine – an engineering feat that utilizes an unopposed cantilever design nearly 165’ tall to manufacture umbilical cables for subsea drilling.
His experience in product development and technical design will help Emco Wheaton to expand its existing wide range of loading arms and associated equipment for the transportation, oil, gas and chemical industries.
