Rail freight operator Metrans received the first Vectron multi-system locomotive at its container terminal in Prague.
The vehicle is part of an order of ten multi-system locomotives. They are being manufactured in the Siemens Mobility factory in Munich-Allach and will be delivered in full by spring 2020.
Metrans will deploy the new Vectron locomotives in transnational freight traffic across Central and Eastern Europe.

The new locomotives for Metrans reach a maximum output of 6.4 MW and a top speed of 160 km/h. They are also set up with the required national train control system as well as the European Train Control System (ETCS).
The locomotives are allowed to operate in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Future upgrades for operation in Bulgaria, Croatia, the Netherlands, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia are also possible
