L-3 M&PS Expands in Brazil, Appoints Lobo

L-3 Marine & Power Systems (M&PS) has extended its presence into the Brazilian marketplace by opening a new office and appointing key local staff. All regional operations for the new Brazilian office will be led by Jonas Henrique Lobo. Lobo will serve as the director of business development for the L-3 Marine & Offshore Brazil office, reporting directly to Brian Pope, senior vice president of business development for L-3 M&PS.

The new Brazilian office will be supported by L-3 Marine & Offshore companies in Europe, Canada and the U.S.A. In addition to its L-3 team, the office will partner with local businesses to utilize local competencies and production facilities, assuring optimum responsiveness for its customers.

Prior to joining L-3, Lobo was the business development manager at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in Brazil. With more than 20 years of experience in the shipbuilding and offshore industries, Lobo recently held positions of increasing responsibility as managing and financial director for Mitsui’s subsidiaries, created to develop specific oil and gas related projects. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Candido Mendes University and MBAs from American Management Association and CICOM Brains Inc.
