Exhibition on Polar Expedition of Heroes in Murmansk

The exhibition "The attraction of the North" opens in Murmansk, in the framework of the presentation of the VIII International festival of documentary films and television programs "Northern Character".

Visitors can see photos taken during the high-latitude expeditions 1929-1940 years, items of equipment of ships plied the North Sea, clothing polar pilot, commemorative badges arctic subjects, according to the portal Hibiny.com.

The exhibition also includes photographs of the founder of the Soviet expedition photographer Dmitry Debabova. Works made during the 1936 ice expedition on the icebreaker "Krasin" and during the rescue drifted 812 days icebreaker "Sedov" in 1939-1940. Of particular interest are the portraits of "sedovtsev" became legendary drift after the Hero of the Soviet Union.

The exhibition will remain open until 30 November 2015.
