Marine and subsea recruitment firm etpm is kicking off the New Year with the launch of its charity fundraiser, The Super Saturday campaign, which revolves around the RBS Six Nations Rugby Tournament and encourages a bit of healthy competition amongst colleagues and friends while raising funds for a number of causes.

Last year etpm raised more than £4,000 for Aberdeen’s Roxburghe House from this campaign alone and it aims to smash that total for this year’s chosen charities, The Wooden Spoon and Bill McLaren Foundation.

etpm’s Super Saturday campaign kicks off each January with a Six Nations online sweepstake and whilst this is ongoing, the team is in the background getting ready for the big Super Saturday event which takes on March 19 - the last day of the tournament. The online sweepstake competition has seen an overwhelming increase in support since its launch in 2013 and with more than 150 entrants last year, etpm has created and launched a dedicated Super Saturday website for 2016.

Andrew Mitchell, etpm Business Development Manager, said: “The sweepstake originally started out as a bit of fun between colleagues in the office. It attracted the interest of those outside of the organisation and before we knew it, we had over 150 online entries and raised £2000 within two weeks of the competition going live and double that by the end of the tournament. This year we would like to raise more than £5000 from the sweepstake and Super Saturday event combined."

Participants get points for successfully predicting the winners of each match in the tournament; in the event of a tie, the winner of the sweepstake will be the person who most closely predicts the number of tries scored during the tournament. The winner of the sweepstake is announced on Super Saturday during the annual event which usually consists of beer, rugby and auctioning prizes generously donated by local partners.

etpm holds a number of fundraising events every year. One of the main beneficiaries in 2015 was Roxburghe House which received £10,000 – nearly half of which came from Super Saturday fundraising.
