Thursday, September 6, 2012

Drydocks World launches an Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel (AHTS) built at its Singapore facility in Tuas basin for Swire Pacific Offshore.

The ABS-classed vessel has a bollard pull of over 200 tonnes, and is powered by four engines combined with an azimuth thruster and four tunnel thrusters.

Equipment includes a Main Towing Winch, CHDs and secondary winches with an Anchor Recovery Frame for meeting Anchor handling requirements. The vessel was designed by ‘Havyard Design AS’ and can accommodate 37 people.

“We are delighted at the successful launch of the vessel, which adds to our portfolio of important projects carried out for the offshore services sector. We are proud that the team was able to meet the productivity targets and launch the vessel ahead of schedule. This has been largely possible due to the commitment and project management expertise of our technical team. We are on track to meet the requirements of the offshore service sector,” said Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World.

Managing Director, Mr Neil Glenn, stated, “For Swire Pacific Offshore to continue to be successful we must consistently deliver safe, professional, high quality service to our customers. We can only do this if, in turn, we are supported by partners who make an effort to understand our business, who share our values and who recognize the importance of long term relationships.”
