The draft law on the development of the Arctic region will be discussed at a joint meeting of the Presidium of the Advisory Council on the Arctic and Antarctic in the Federation Council and the State Commission on the Development of the Arctic November 20.
The meeting was held under the leadership of the chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and Head of the State Commission for the Arctic, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.
The event will discuss a draft concept of the federal law on the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The parties will also consider the issue of participation of administrative-territorial formations circumpolar regions of Russia in the International Arctic Forum.
Participants of the meeting will be the heads of federal executive authorities, heads of subjects of the Russian Arctic and representatives of business and scientific organizations.
Recall, the State Commission for the Development of the Arctic was founded in March 2015 in accordance with the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The composition of the State Commission included the heads of federal executive authorities, senior officials of the subjects of the Russian Federation, fully or partially included in the Arctic zone, Russian presidential representative in the individual federal districts, representatives of the Security Council, the presidential administration, scientific and public organizations.
The task of the State Commission for the Arctic is to coordinate the work of state bodies in matters of transport, environmental protection, international cooperation and national security in the Arctic region.
