Clyde Marine Training have announced the introduction of a management level Human Element, Leadership and Management (HELM) course to bolster their portfolio of maritime courses.

The HELM course is aimed at Chief Mates, Masters, Second and Chief Engineers and is an essential element for those looking to advance their careers.

Speaking at the launch of the course Matt Horton Clyde Marine Training’s Divisional Manager explained “we kept being approached by individuals who have either been cadets or been on other training courses with us asking about the management level HELM course. It’s really quite exciting to see people you remember as school leavers on their first day as trainees progress in their careers to the point they’re asking you to provide HELM training for them. It wasn’t a difficult decision to make to add it to our list of maritime training courses however we wanted to ensure it was the best one available and that meant waiting until the finest trainers and best facilities were open to us. Introducing HELM is another part of our investment in courses, staff and facilities this year.“

The course lasts five days and is being held in Glasgow in October.
