BMT Marine & Offshore Surveys Ltd, a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd, the leading international maritime design, engineering and risk management consultancy, announced the appointment of Nigel Clark as Managing Director with former Managing Director Dr. Phil Thompson taking on the role of non-executive Chairman.
Clark has been with the company since September 2009 having joined as Finance Director. He has a background in the marine and offshore sectors having held senior positions within a number of oil and gas companies and within London Marine Group (LMG) where he was both Group Finance Director and acting CEO. During his career Clark has worked across a wide range of maritime ventures including the roll out of a shipping focussed marine consultancy business; the commercial management of significant offshore warranty survey contracts; the financing of EPiC contracts to deliver spread mooring systems; the financial management of a number of oilfield developments; and the successful entry of a business into the market providing FPSO and FSO solutions in competition to the established providers.
