APEC-Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center has signed a MoU with Profession Qualification Authority of the Ministry of Transport of China. The MoU aims at the establishment and further improvement of the management system for dangerous goods in the ports and along the waterways in China. This MoU will eventually generate a number of tailor-made training at APEC-Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center in Antwerp.
Profession Qualification Authority of the Ministry of Transport of China is responsible for all the professional entrance into the regulated transport markets in China. This government organization organizes training and issue profession cards.
Antwerp is the largest chemical cluster and the second largest port in Europe. Annually more than 60 million ton chemical goods are loaded or discharged in the port of Antwerp. Throughout the years the Port of Antwerp has built up a rich knowledge and experiences in the field of management of dangerous goods in the port. With this MoU both parties wishes to cooperate closely for a long term.
APEC-Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center is affiliated to the Antwerp Port Authority, specialized in the training of all port related topics. As from 1980, APEC has trained more than 4000 Chinese professionals from ports, shipping companies, logistics companies and transport related government officials. Since 2004 APEC-Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center has been recognized by SAFEA (China State Administration for Foreign Experts Affairs). There are many APEC alumni on the top of many governments and companies in China.
