Intercargo the trade Association representing the interests of the bulk shipping industry, has announced the appointment of Mr John Platsidakis as Chairman. Mr Platsidakis is currently Managing Director of Piraeus-based Anangel Maritime Services Inc., a function that he will continue to perform alongside his role as Intercargo Chairman.

The appointment was made at the Annual General Meeting of Intercargo in London on 9 October, where Mr Platsidakis expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Chairman Emeritus, Mr Nicholas Pappadakis, who steps down after seven years as Chairman of Intercargo.

Speaking of his appointment, Mr Platsidakis said “the role of Chairman of Intercargo is both a great honour and privilege for me given the important work that the Association carries out”. He continued “taking the role after Mr Pappadakis is undoubtedly a daunting task given his enthusiasm and passion for the dry bulk industry, but I’m hoping that I can equal his achievements and success during my tenure and urge our members to enhance their support of Intercargo to assist in my efforts to achieve the objectives of our Association”.
