CFSAI Shifts to New Office in New Mumbai

Container Freight Station Association of India (CFSAI) has set up a full-fledged Secretariat and moved to its new office at “Anchorage Building” in Dronagiri  Node on 26th August 2015. Mr. Sanjeev Behari, IRS,  Chief Commissioner of Customs, Nhava Sheva was the Chief Guest on this occasion who formally inaugurated the office. The distinguished Board members of CFSAI includes the President Shri. Adarsh Hegde and Vice President Shri. V Padmanabhan and Capt. Nishit Joshi welcomed Mr. Sanjeev Behari and Mr. Rakesh Goel, IRS, Addl Commisoner (Exports) and all members of CFSAI.
 
At the function,  Mr. Sanjeev Behari  addressed the CFSAI members in the  newly opened office and mentioned that JNPT’s growth in the last two years was marginal as compared to the other ports such as Mundra , Hazira and Chennai. He expressed his desire to know what steps were required to boost the growth and remove bottle-necks which were holding up the growth in JNPT region.  CFSAI members took the opportunity to highlight various factors which contribute to delays, loss of productivity and efficiency and also suggested positive and easy   implementable steps that could be taken to improve the productivity. The issue of the recent strike  in GTI, congestion on roads, delay in  clearance of long standing containers, obstacles / constraints in disposal of goods  especially food and agro products,  were amongst the issues discussed. Mr. Behari   has asked CFSAI to formally highlight each of the issues and he along with his team would make best endeavours to address some of them.
 
CFSAI was set up in July 2004  and has been taking up  various key issues  of its members from time to time in various forums and with  Governmental bodies including JNPT, CBEC, CIDCO, POLICE, CISF, MPCB etc & various ministries such as Ministry of Commerce, Finance and Shipping and Private Terminal Operators. CFSAI is focused on improving efficiency of the logistics sector and address constraints which are deterrents to the growth of the sector. As the backbone of India’s economy, the logistics space is poised for a substantial growth in the coming years.
 
Mr. Adarsh Hegde President of CFSAI also mentioned during the occasion that “The association has  recently expanded its team and now has on board Mr. Umesh Grover as the Secretary General. He is the ex-CEO of INSA & an ex- Director on Board of SCI  who comes with a vast experience in the Port & Shipping sector”.
