Category 3 Marine Diesel Engines

Sunday, August 23, 2009

EPA’s proposed rule to adopt new emission standards for Category 3 marine diesel engines will be published on August 28, 2009.  The comment period was set to close on September 5th, however, due to the delayed publication of the proposed rule, the comment period will be extended to September 28th.  The additional comment time should not affect the timing of the final rulemaking, which we plan to complete by December 17 of this year.  For information on how to submit written comments to Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OAR-2007-0121, please see the Federal Register Notice or the pre-publication version of the proposal posted on our website at www.epa.gov/otaq/oceanvessels.htm
