NAT Buys Twenty-first Tankship

Nordic American Tankers Limited (NAT) is to acquire a Suezmax tankship delivered to its owners earlier this year .

The company has entered into a preliminary agreement to acquire a modern double-hull Suezmax tanker delivered from a top yard in South Korea in early 2013. The agreed purchase price is in the region of US$ 55-million. This first class vessel is expected to be delivered by no later than May 15, 2013. The acquisition will be financed from the financial resources of the Company.

NAT do not name the vendor or the shipbuilder in this announcement, but state that the vessel was built to a high technical specifications, adding that their focus is on safety for crew, vessels and the environment. NAT also say that they intend to further expand their fleet.
