Five-year contract provides environmental expertise for maintaining the nation's waterways.
Battelle has won a five-year, $15 million contract to support and consult with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New England District, North Atlantic Division.Battelle will provide technical expertise in support of the District's mission for maintaining the nation's waterways, specifically focusing on contaminated sediments, restoration, and remediation. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for USACE also calls for Battelle to support environmental assessments and policy decisions and help with resource management in the North Atlantic Division.
To date, Battelle has supported the New England District's environmental mission over three environmental consulting services contracts since 1996. Under these contracts Battelle has and will continue to provide laboratory, field, and technical consulting services throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island - and possibly other North Atlantic Division states as well."We're thrilled to win the contract once again, and we feel strongly that Battelle is uniquely positioned to assist the Corps of Engineers," said Tracy Stenner, Manager of Battelle's Environmental Solutions product line. The contract will be managed by Senior Research Scientist Lisa Lefkovitz. "Our technical expertise and hands-on assessment and monitoring experience with USACE sets us apart from our competitors," she said, referencing Battelle's work on the New Bedford Harbor and Centredale Manor Superfund sites, and Environmental Impact Statements for evaluating dredged material disposal locations in the waters of Long Island Sound and the Rhode Island Region.
