Rajaish Bajpaee, Chief Executive Officer of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, will receive the Tanker Shipping & Trade Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of a career spanning more than 40 years and characterized by outstanding commercial acumen, wider industry participation and philanthropy.

As head of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, Bajpaee has overall responsibility for a fleet of more than 600 ships of various types, 20,000 employees and maritime service, crew management and training centers in over 30 locations around the world.

Beyond these corporate responsibilities, Bajpaee is an executive member of both INTERTANKO and InterManager, and continuously devotes time to the Shipping Key Performance Indicators initiative. He also tirelessly visits schools and universities to champion a career in the maritime sector.

“I am delighted to receive this award,” Bajpaee said. “I firmly believe that high quality people are inherent to the strength of our company and wider shipping community, and have always tried to make time to encourage and develop young talent and bring it into the industry. This award is a recognition of that philosophy and I accept it with thanks.”

Bajpaee will receive his award on November 20 during the 2014 Tanker Shipping & Trade Conference being held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel & Conference Centre, London.
