Saudi Arabia based Bahri Group, one of the largest ship owners in the Middle East and the largest owner of very large crude carriers (VLCC) in the world, has opted for digital solutions from Singapore based MariApps Marine Solutions to help meet its ship management software requirements.
Majid Al-Shenaiber, Senior VP, Information Technology, Bahri Group, and Sankar Ragavan, CEO MariApps Marine Solutions, signed the agreement at the Bahri offices in Dubai on May 13.
MariApps said it will roll out the latest version of the ship management Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP), PAL 4, to all locations of the Bahri Shipmanagement business.
"With our fleet increasing by 40-50 percent in the next few areas, we wanted to choose a software which aids us in our growth and gives us the right platform to integrate to modern technologies," said Majid Al-Shenaiber.
Bahri has also chosen MariApps as its strategic digitization partner as it investigates the latest technology and new tools to modernize its businesses.
MariApps Marine Solutions is part of Bernhard Schulte, owned by the Schulte family, based in Hamburg, with deep roots in ship owning and ship management. Its ship management ERP PAL is already implemented by shipping companies across the world and runs on more than 900 vessels.
