Gary Aucoin has joined Schottel Inc. in Houma, La., as the new General Manager. Aucoin is a dedicated sales expert taking over leadership of the growing U.S. subsidiary. Most recently, from 2010, he held the role of account manager at Wärtsilä with responsibility for both new business development and after sales service in the offshore market. These are already strong areas with further growth potential for Schottel in North America. Aucoin holds a master degree in business administration and 15-years of experience in the North American maritime sector.
Gary Aucoin took up his new position from Nils Moerkeseth, GM of Schottel Inc. for many years. Dr. Christian Strahberger, CEO of parent company Schottel GmbH, thanked Nils Moerkeseth for his many years of dedicated service which played a key role in the company’s expansion on the North American market. Moerkeseth’s strategy for Schottel Inc. resulted in a turnover grew by a nearly factor of ten under his responsibility, and major increase of market shares in his region. Additionally, an extension of the sales territory to cover Canada was established. He will stay with Schottel as Executive Chairman.
