14,000-TEU ONE Aquila Delivered

Friday, September 7, 2018

Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) announced it has taken delivery of the 14,00 TEU capacity ONE Aquila at Japan Marine United Corporation’s Kure Shipyard in Hiroshima. The containership’s sublet owner is Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line).

The vessel’s main engine features a duel system that enables high and low output ranges for flexible operation and improved fuel-consumption rate, resulting in a significant reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

The new ship also employs a hull form that allows improved cargo-loading efficiency achieved by minimized engine-room space.

On the navigation bridge, an Integrated Navigation System (INS) consolidates vessel systems functions, while a wide window allows operators to have a wider eyesight from the wing when berthing and unberthing.

ONE Aquila will phase in THE Alliance’s Asia to North America (West Coast) PN3 service with the following port rotation: Hong Kong, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Pusan, Prince Rupert, Vancouver, Seattle, Pusan, Kwangyang and Hong Kong.
