Alan C. McClure Associates (ACMA), a naval architecture and engineering firm, announced that ACMA President Scott McClure was presented with his Certificate as a Fellow by the council of SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers) during a function held in connection with the 2013 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas.

Noble went on to note that Scott McClure has been a respected member of this community for many years, following in the footsteps of his father, the late Alan C. McClure, who was elected a Fellow of SNAME in 1987.

“This is a high honor, and well deserved”, said SNAME President Peter Noble. “While other grades of membership in SNAME can be gained through education and experience, the grade of Fellow is conferred by the Council of the Society and reserved exclusively for those who have made outstanding contributions to the profession. Less than 2% of the membership of SNAME attains this grade.”

“In addition to his business accomplishments, Scott has always given back to his profession by not only being an active member of SNAME, but also encouraging and supporting members of the ACMA team to participate in the organization,” Noble said. “I’ve known Scott for over 25 years and have been pleased to see how he has developed into a seasoned professional leading his company to a place of respect in the offshore and marine community.”
