Board Changes at Teekay Corporation

Teekay Corporation announced changes to its Board of Directors. Alan Semple has been appointed as the new Chair of the Audit Committee following the retirement of Eileen A. Mercier effective March 12, 2018. Semple joined the Teekay Board and its Audit Committee in 2015. He has over 30 years of finance and energy industry experience, including as Director and Chief Financial Officer at John Wood Group PLC until his retirement in May 2015. Semple currently also serves on the Board of Cobham PLC, where he is the Chair of its Audit Committee.

Wood Group Bags Alexandroupolis FEED

Wood Group has secured a new front end engineering design (FEED) contract with Gastrade S.A. for the Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System (INGS) offshore Greece. The project, to develop a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving, storage and regasification unit (FSRU), will create a new natural gas gateway to the markets of south eastern and central Europe. Wood Group’s subsea team will perform the design and engineering definition of the Alexandroupolis FSRU and its subsystems which will support the final investment decision for the project, planned for late 2017.

Shell: No Production Impact from North Sea Strikes Scheduled for Tuesday

Production from Shell's North Sea platforms will not be affected by planned strikes on Tuesday, a spokesman said. Maintenance workers employed by Wood Group on Shell's North Sea platforms will stop work for 24 hours in protest against pay cuts and tougher working conditions. "We don't envisage any impact in terms of production tomorrow or later in the week," a Shell spokesman said. The platforms affected are Brent Alpha, Bravo and Charlie, Gannet, Nelson, Curlew and Shearwater, plus Shell's Brent Delta platform, which is being decommissioned.

Wood Group Secures Apache's Subsea MSA Deal Extention

Wood Group has been awarded an extension to its master service agreement (MSA) contract with Apache Corporation in the North Sea. Wood Group will continue to deliver subsea engineering and consultancy services, in support of Apache's routine operation and maintenance works, as well as detailed engineering for future subsea developments across its entire North Sea portfolio; the Forties and Beryl areas, Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) pipeline and the onshore SAGE facility at St Fergus. Effective immediately, the contract includes two one-year extension options.

Wood Group Develops Advanced Analytics Capability with CeADA

Wood Group today announced that it is collaborating with the Centre for Applied Data Analytics (CeADAR), located at University College Dublin (UCD), to launch a new data analytics capability to deliver significant savings for the energy and industrial sectors. Wood Group Kenny (WGK) will work with CeADAR to develop predictive analytics for deployment particularly in the oil and gas industry. This will initially be targeted at brownfield engineering services and will strengthen WGK's existing services in the area of measured data analysis.

Slater joins WFS Technologies as Sales Manager

WFS Technology Ltd. has appointed Graeme Slater as Sales Manager for the U.K., Australia and Southeast Asia. He is based in Aberdeen. Since joining WFS in March, Slater has been supporting the company’s U.K. and international customers in its use of Seatooth-enabled products to increase production and reduce costs. Prior to joining WFS Slater spent 13 years at Schlumberger in domestic and international managerial positions as the main point of contact. Before Schlumberger, he worked in engineering roles for National Oilwell Varco and Wood Group Engineering.

Taqa Extends Wood Group Contract

Wood Group has secured a two-year contract extension with TAQA in the North Sea. Wood Group PSN, will continue to provide engineering, construction and maintenance services to five offshore assets - Cormorant Alpha, North Cormorant, Eider, Tern and Harding – extending an agreement in place since 2008. New Charges in 2012 Fatal Platform Blast

Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations LLC, Grand Isle Shipyards Inc., Wood Group PSN Inc., as well as Don Moss, 46, of Groves, Texas, Curtis Dantin, 50, of Cut-Off, La., and Christopher Srubar, 40, of Destrehan, La., have been charged with crimes for a November 2012 explosion on an oil production platform that resulted in the death of three workers, the injury of others and an oil spill, announced the Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Aker Solutions has appointed David Clark as regional president of the U.K. and Africa to oversee an expansion and support operations in these key markets, the company announced today. Liquefied Natural Gas Limited  is entering into two additional  key  supplier  alliance  agreements  (SAA)  with  Siemens  Energy  Inc. and EthosEnergy  Group, respectively. North Sea Job Losses Raise Skills and Safety Concerns

Cost-cutting in Britain's North Sea oil and gas sector could lead to more acute skills shortages in future, industry experts have warned, with some expressing concerns that safety could be compromised. A plunge in crude prices over the last 12 months has prompted oil majors such as Royal Dutch Shell, BP , Chevron and ConocoPhillips to lay off hundreds of workers. Oil field services groups such as Amec Foster Wheeler , Wood Group and Petrofac are also in consultation with employees over job cuts.

Xodus Subsea Strengthens Americas Team

Xodus Subsea has appointed a General Manager and Business Development Manager to drive activity in the Americas, as the company aims to challenge the largest tier one subsea engineering companies for a share of the market in the region. Amedeo Marcotulli is the company’s new General Manager – Americas, and previously worked with Genesis where he was Subsea Business Unit Director for Asia Pacific. U.K. Offshore Maintenance Contract for XPD8 Solutions

Aberdeen, Scotland-based XPD8 Solutions' condition monitoring team secures contracts valued at more than £2-million. The company, which specializes in the management of maintenance systems for oil and gas producing assets, has been awarded contracts to deliver further condition monitoring support to CNR, Wood Group PSN and Hess over the next three years. XPD8 currently has a full order book, and to prepare for future growth the company will create 18 positions across all departments in 2013.

OSRCL Inks Maintanence Deal with Wood Group

Wood Group Kenny (WGK) has secured a five year contract with Oil Spill Response (Capping) Ltd (OSRCL) to provide the maintenance support for a key part of a containment toolkit that would be used to control hydrocarbon release in the event of a subsea well control incident. The multi-million dollar project will see WGK work with OSRCL to ensure that the flexible flowlines included in the toolkit are continuously in a condition suitable for immediate load out if mobilised by subscribing oil and gas operators.

2H Offshore Strengthens Flexible Riser Service

2H Offshore, an Acteon company, is adding to its flexible marine riser engineering capabilities by growing its teams in Aberdeen and Kuala Lumpur, the company announced today. Flexible riser engineer, Gilles Gardner, has been hired as a technical manager to support 2H’s growing flexible riser engineering service offering from the Aberdeen office. Gardner will assist the local management team in the development of 2H’s flexible riser analysis and engineering capability in the region.

Kemp Succeeds Semple at Wood Group

Wood Group announced following changes to its senior management team. Alan Semple, chief financial officer (CFO) has advised the board that he intends to retire and step down from his current role and from the board at the company’s annual general meeting in May 2015, at which time he will have held senior financial roles with Wood Group for over 19 years. Alan has been CFO and a member of the board since 2000. David Kemp, CFO of Wood Group PSN will succeed Alan and will join the board as an executive director following the 2015 annual general meeting.

Decom North Sea (DNS), the offshore oil & gas decommissioning forum, held its annual general meeting last night in St Andrews, with 10 new directors elected from across all sectors of the decommissioning industry. The meeting heard that the supply chain body now has 213 fee paying members. Attendees were also given an overview of Decom North Sea activity over the past year and an update on progress against the various strategic objectives.
