Papeete Launches Smart Port Transformation with Ci5

The Papeete Port Authority (PAP) is entering the smart port era with Ci5, a Cargo Intelligent System for goods flow management. This decision was made last March following a request for proposals launched in 2017 and after the opinion issued by the Market Consultative Commission and the Papeete trade advisory committee. For the Papeete port community, Ci5 has been renamed FETIA, which means star in Tahitian.The PAP was convinced by MGI’s bid thanks to the technology used in Ci5, a web services-oriented open source architecture and the integrated innovations.

INTTRA Unveils New Applications Suite

INTTRA, the electronic transaction platform, software and information provider, announced two new cloud-based products and enhancements. The first is a new Container Forecasting and Allocation Solutions Tool (C-FAST) for Freight Forwarders and NVOCC's that matches the forecast of their customers' anticipated container volume to carrier capacity availability. The second is an enhanced version of its Ocean Schedules offering that optimizes the shipment planning experience for ocean supply chain professionals.

Microsoft Sinking Data Center in the Pacific

Microsoft swims to ocean’s depth to test underwater data center as environmentally friendly cloud computing alternative. The software giant has dropped a data center into the Pacific Ocean off California. Cavazzi Joins ENVITIA’s Applied Research Team

ENVITIA has appointed Dr. Stefano Cavazzi to the role of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Consultant. Cavazzi will be responsible for providing expertise to customers with respect to Spatial Data Infrastructures, INSPIRE, Cloud Computing for Government Solutions (G-Cloud), web services and GIS technology for environmental management. Cavazzi joins ENVITIA from the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) where he conducted research on offshore wind power and renewable energy. Prior to joining the STFC, Stefano was a GIS consultant at Mouchel.

PGS Implements Adonis Personnel Manager

Adonis AS (Adonis), a provider of global maritime HR solutions, announced that Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) has implemented Adonis Personnel Manager (APM) to automate crew planning processes for its multinational maritime workforce. The solution will enable PGS to simplify the management of crew rotations and centralize major crewing processes, such as Visa applications, work permits and compliance with maritime requirements (offshore certificates, valid medical certificates, etc.), all from a single platform.
