Grieg Star, Maas Capital Form Dry Bulk JV

Norwegean shipping company Grieg Star and investment management firm Maas Capital have established a joint venture for ownership of Supramax and Ultramax vessels.The new company is named GriegMaas AS, said the ship owner, manager and operator for over 40 open hatch and conventional bulk vessels.The joint venture was established in December 2018. The companies have each 50 percent ownership of the GriegMaas joint venture.The company aims to acquire high quality Supramax- and Ultramax bulkers.

NYK Line Signs TC for Two LNG Carriers with Total

Japanese shipping giant NYK has signed a long-term contract with a unit of French energy giant Total to charter two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.According to the contract, Total Gas & Power Chartering Ltd (TGPCL) will charter from NYK two newly built liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers that will be built by Samsung Heavy Industries Co. Bahri Targets Acquisitions in Asia, Middle East

Saudi Arabia's Bahri is targeting acquisitions in Asia and the Middle East as the exclusive oil shipper for state energy giant Saudi Aramco seeks to expand its reach, the chief executive said on Wednesday.Bahri is the world's largest owner and operator of very large crude carriers (VLCCs). Wallem Welcomes First Vessel Under Japanese Flag

The Aphrodite Leader, a pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), is the first vessel under Wallem Ship Management to come under the Japanese Flag.The Aphrodite Leader completed the various inspections, audits and surveys in accordance with the Japanese Flag requirements. The vessel then officially changed over to Japanese Flag upon receipt of the statutory certificates from the Japanese Government and Class NK.This marks a positive milestone as Wallem is now one of just a few international ship managers capable of managing Japanese Flag vessels.

V.Ships Offshore, part of V.Group has been awarded a ship management contract by Fortress Transportation and Infrastructure Investors LLC to provide full technical and crew management services for an advanced SURF/IMR vessel. ISS wins crew logistics contract with MSI Ship Management

Marine, cargo and supply chain solutions provider Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has won a new contract with MSI Ship Management Pte Ltd to provide crew logistics services (CLS) across the globe. Under the new contract, MSI Ship Management will assign numerous vessels including bulk carriers, VLOCs, chemical and product tankers to ISS to help streamline and improve its crew transfer service worldwide. Singapore-based MSI Ship Management specializes in international ship management services, handling over 2500 seafarers globally, with 1,500 at sea at any one time.

China Exim Bank Backs Seaspan

Seaspan Corporation has lined-up a $1bn worth of export credit facilities with the Export-Import Bank of China (CEXIM). Seaspan has signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement with the Export-Import Bank of China (CEXIM) for a total of up to $1 billion in export credit facilities. Third 14,000 TEU Container Joins Seaspan

Hong Kong-based owner and operator of containerships Seaspan Corporation has taken delivery of a 14,000 TEU containership, the YM Winner. The new ship, which was constructed at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., is Seaspan’s third 14,000 TEU SAVER design containership and fourth delivery in 2015. The YM Winner will commence a ten-year, fixed-rate time charter with Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. The ship is the third of a total of eight 14000 TEU SAVER design vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to Yang Ming. The delivery of the YM Winner expands the Company's operating fleet to 81 vessels.

The Human Element of Ship Management

The best third party ship managers employ technology, good business practices, economies of scale and a customized approach for each client.
